How to Encourage Reading?

Did you know that reading can improve language skills? Therefore, it is important to start reading at an early age.

So how do you start?

• Get your kids to love reading by following these tips.

• Buy books with short stories and colorful pictures.

• Have your child pick out the book.

• Read to them because by doing so your child will learn firsthand the joys that reading can bring, it will help to develop a motivation to read.

• Create a reading space and take time to participate with your young ones in this space.

• Read everything, teach your child that reading is more than just for books.

• Practice reading menus, signs, game instructions, and billboards this will help to show them that reading is everywhere.

• Read to them before going to sleep or just have them listen to audible stories.

• Make reading part of your child’s night-time routine.

With a little motivation and direction, you can help give your child the reading boost he or she needs.
